The area
Scapoli is a village to cross slowly. The lanes, the Cammino di Ronda walkway, the stone houses and the glimpses towards the Mainarde lead guests into a place where nature and culture still live side by side.

The musical and craft tradition of the zampogna, the Italian bagpipe, is one of the most recognisable marks of Scapoli. The “P. Vecchione” International Bagpipe Museum holds instruments and records connected to this culture, and the makers’ workshops still survive in the village. Scapoli belongs to the Molise section of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. The village is a starting point for the mountains, woods and landscapes of the upper Volturno valley. For trails, conditions and current guidance, check the Park InfoPoint before setting out.

About 7.5–8 kilometres from the houses stands the monumental complex of San Vincenzo al Volturno, a monastic and archaeological site of the first order for the history of this area.

Not far away lies the lake of Castel San Vincenzo, which appears in some of the property’s landscape photographs. It is the countryside around the village, not part of the houses: a place to reach in a day, like the mountains that surround it.
On foot, inside the village

Distances as stated on the Booking listings of the five houses: they vary by a few hundred metres depending on the street number, which is why they remain ranges. These are not travel times.
The landscape around
